I got a little inspired....

by the family photos that Micheal and Deannah had done. I liked the photographers style. I tried to emulate it a little in these. Natalie (such a sweet heart) came down with her husband from Salt Lake to Provo for a book signing and we kind of kiddnapped her for a bit. This is what we did! I've done a lot in woods and parks and fun places like that but this time I really wanted to try out the urban scene! I think it turned out pretty well. I really am pleased with these pictures. And I'm usually my hardest critic. So give me feed back! These wonderful people posing for me are my roommates Avery and Danica and Adam (he's not a roommate but he's still cool :)

Laurel and Danica Visit

Laurel and Danica (friends from the Single's ward in California) came up to Utah for a bit and agreed to pose for me at Temple Square. They were great! I'm so grateful for them letting me practice with them! I think they came out pretty good!!

This is an effect that I've been trying to create with the camera. No editing
on this one! It's harder than it looks!!

Summer '09

I was looking through some old photos of pictures I had taken in the summer of 09. Some really weren't anything to write home about but I salvaged some. :) They make some great candids and they are just over all fun!

The background was too busy so some major cropping was done. But I like their fascination with the water!

Michele and Joe Yaede

I got a text one evening that said "I'm getting married!!" I replied, "That's so great! Congratulations! If you want I could take pictures!" These are the results!! So thank you Michele and Joe for trusting me with out really seeing my pictures!

Oh how I love editing now!

On the shoot, I told them to stop and to hold hands. Michele asked why I was taking pictures of their hands. I told her to trust me! One of the things I've learned from others and books on wedding photography is that the photographer should focus on the details especially at weddings! The result was quite pleasing!
I love this shot because it is right at the entrance to Bridal Veil Park and there was a porter potty just to the right of Joe's back! I learned from Mr. Sadnick (My photo teacher) to do most of the cropping with the camera. Thank you Mr. Sadnick!

Steven

This one started it all. I think that Steven (the subject) said it best when he stated that the picture had "full ankle grab-age".

Loraina and Nathan Porter

Editing was a it of a daunting task when I thought about photography. I learned on photoshop and adobe. They seemed a little confusing but I'm sure that the editing possibilities are seemingly endless once you know what you are doing. Maybe I just never took the time.

One of the recent kicks to get more into this hobby was the acquisition of iphoto. Apple will probably rule the world someday so why not be on their side? :)
Anyhoo, iphoto thank you for allowing me to expand and being easy to comprehend!
I really like shooting at La Jolla Cove. As a background it gives you so many possibilities and variations! I know a truly great photographer can take any setting and turn it in to a gorgeous picture but I'm still learning and having a great back drop like La Jolla helps so much!

I truly love this picture.
